I’ve stumbled into a place of enchantment and sweet aromas. This foliage-filled stage has captured my imagination and I’ve been exploring the mysteries of manicured hedges, both the English and French varieties, and the essence of fragrance. These things, combined with a dose of mid-western vegetable gardening, have piqued my curiosity and have provided the beginning of a new private language. I’ve been influenced not only by French wallpaper and fabric patterns, but also my Dad’s garden tools, heavily worn with the marks of sweat and labor. One intercontinental design influences the other and my work continually teeter-totters between symbols of rural Missouri and icons of royal European design and decoration.
